THINKING OF 'ROOTING' YOUR ANDROID DEVICE? Simply 'Rooting' is to unlock original phone software. All newly bought and original handsets are sold with original factory software. For the sake of patent and ownership rights associated to the assembled device and well as device security(etc), its use is 'somehow' restrictive. For most Users basically in terms applications download and use denial (i.e. Games and other interactive applications). Rooting therefore takes away all these restrictions and more. For a handset owner to get more adventurous in using device, like Custom ROM installation. Please note coming with this 'great freedom' is its risk.
